Meet The STITCH ON CREW

LESLIE
Leslie, owner of Stitch On since 1984, enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs. Steve, her husband, helps with shipping and checking in inventory. They have two daughters, AnneMarie and Laura, who both work at the store.

LAURA
Laura, Leslie’s younger daughter, works in the store during the week.
She stays super busy with her three young boys.

ANNEMARIE
AnneMarie, Leslie’s oldest daughter, works in the store on Saturdays. She cross stitches almost every evening as a way to wind down with her husband, cat, and dog.

INGRID
Ingrid started working at the store over 20 years ago when Leslie’s girls were just teenagers.
Ingrid is not intimidated by small, detailed quilting projects.

RITA
Rita, formerly a high school math teacher, started working at the store in 2023 after retiring from teaching. She has a variety of quilting interests – bag making, Laura Heine collaging, long arm quilting, and more!

NANCY

CYNDI
Cyndi started working in the store in 2024. Her favorite fabric designer is Barbara Brackman, who is known for Civil War fabrics. Cyndi loves using her leftover fabrics from a project to piece her quilt backings.

MARILYN
Marilyn started working at the store in 2025. She took her very first quilting class with Dorothy Wheeler at our prior downtown Lawrence location in 1995.
